ENCOUNTERS IN SPACE
The idea of this diorama was for it to be a tribute piece to the third
movie of the Gundam trilogy “Mobile Suit Gundam III Encounters in
Space”, when Amuro and Char approach each other during the battle
of A Baoa Qu.
For the base, I used a wooden box and then covered it with pla plate
to make the plinth part. The diorama included an RG Zeong and RG
RX-78-2 2.0 Gundam with the extra hyper bazooka and Super Napalm
on the beam rifle from the weapons sets for the main base kits.
The ground surface started off with two system base units from
Bandai for the design base.
Then I added pla plates, pla tube, builder parts, along with a few
custom scribed lines were added to it. MS Pipe 01, MS sight lens 01,
bazooka parts from the first RG Gundam (2010), and HG Zaku II origin
(Bazooka ammo on the base), and stand parts from the Zeong so that
the Zeong will be able to stand were also used. Then, I added a
couple of Bandai debris parts to float around the base. I also added
some scratches and damaged it a little to make the base look
ravaged.
For the RG Zaku ii, I added some battle damage and took some parts
away to express the intensity of the battlefield. I used cork sheets
and applied AK ground rock texture to show the asteroid rock on A
Baoa Qu.
